Search widget move wraps top (p-vector) menu into two rows on notebook screens
Closed, DuplicatePublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to Reproduce:

  • example screen: 15,4" (2880 x 1800) Retina display
  • German language with longer words ("watchlist" -> "Beobachtungsliste", "talk" -> "Diskussion")
  • mostly vanilla vector, no special "monobook tools"
  • check recent desktop improvement (new position of search widget)

Actual Results:

  • too little space for p-vector menu (User, talk, watchlist etc.) , it breaks:

grafik.png (138×2 px, 60 KB)
(standard zoom level)
grafik.png (174×2 px, 83 KB)
(higher zoom level for 50+ people)

  • and I have a really short user name here … there are plenty of user names that are way longer

Expected Results:

  • user menu should not break in 2 lines, should keep its space, even in slightly increased zoom levels (accessibility).

Opinion: I would appreciate if you do not hide this menu in a dropdown or the like to fix this problem, this would result in more clicks to these very important menu items.
