Description

Goal

We have GuidedTour enabled on Special:Investigate. Now that the feature is out, we should capture metrics about usage of the tours.

There are two tours:

On the form page: checkuserinvestigateform
On the data page: checkuserinvestigate

Questions:

Can we get any metrics about how many times:

GT popups were displayed?
users clicked through the GT popups?

To answer above questions, we can find data in below 2 schema, with tour field of checkuserinvestigateform (the initial form page) and checkuserinvestigate (after starting an investigation)

How many times GT popups were displayed?

How many times users clicked through the GT popups?

How long GuidedTour was shown?

In the eventlogging table, no field was designed to track how long GuidedTour was shown. I estimate by the time difference between the first action and the last action in one session. It's not accurate as the time spent on the last step was not counted into the total time spent. But it can give us a rough estimate on how long user is with GuidedTour. Here are the distribution.
