@kaldari given the team has delivered our first phase of push notifications (enabled for Android and iOS Wikipedia apps), this task is a placeholder for our next phase (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Product_Infrastructure_team/Push_Notifications_Infrastructure#Phase_2:_Open_Echo) in which we'll enable push for web.

Note that we are not actively working on this and as of this moment in the "later" column of our roadmap. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Is this a duplicate for T113125: Investigate using service workers to provide real-time Echo notifications in the browser (push notifications)?

I think this ticket is from an old discussion to add support for web push in our push notifications backend which currently support Apple (APNS) and Android (Firebase).
Since there was no need for web push in our supported providers this has stalled.
