frdev1001 ILO inaccessible
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

frdev1001.mgmt.frack.eqiad.wmnet (10.64.40.200) is inaccessible, it doesn't respond to ssh or ping. I double-checked the IP address in case it changed when we switched to generating DNS from netbox, but it it's same as it was in 2019.

Event Timeline

Dwisehaupt renamed this task from frdev1001 DRAC inaccessible to frdev1001 ILO inaccessible .Nov 17 2020, 7:35 PM

@Jgreen I swapped the mgmt cable, if that does not fix the issue then I will need to power this server off for a few minutes to do a hard reset.

Still no connectivity. Does the port show link and or is it possible the switch port config got put in the wrong vlan or something?

@Jgreen do you have our mgmt ports in a vlan? I don't think anyone has touched the server prior to the ILO becoming inaccessible. The problem happens often and pulling the power and rebooting usually clears it up.

Ok, let's do the reboot. I'll ping you to plan a maintenance window.

This is planned for this coming Friday around 1100 EST

It turns out all the ILO network settings were reset, fixed on the console and ILO is accessible.
