Updating https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:GlobalWatchlist, will expand once the extension is deployed and people start asking questions

It seems there is some confusion about why this is only being deployed on a single wiki if its a global watchlist (see @Iniquity's question at T260862#6793390 and the subsequent discussion). This should probably be documented well somewhere outside of phabricator, but I'm not quite sure how to phrase it. @Iniquity as someone who was (from what I gather) confused about why this was only being deployed on a single wiki, now that you understand would you be willing to try and explain it in your own words to see if I explained it well?

I'm afraid that in your explanation I see more pros for deploying across all wikis than cons :)

I think something like this:

At the moment, under the Grant, as an entry point, this extension has been developed and deployed for https://meta.wikimedia.org/ only. It has not been tested on other sites and may cause errors.

Hmm, except it hasn't been actually "tested" on meta, since it hasn't been deployed there, and the issue isn't with errors, but confusion and redundancy. I guess I'll need to figure out a better explanation myself then

Mb:

Due to concerns about the potential for confusion between watchlists, this extension is only deployed to https://meta.wikimedia.org/. Adaptation and deployment to other Wikimedia Foundation sites requires additional analysis and discussion.

DannyS712 moved this task from In progress to Done on the MediaWiki-extensions-GlobalWatchlist board.
DannyS712 set Final Story Points to 4.

There is documentation on mediawiki, as requested - improvements can be made there
