Anyone with space(s) between their username would likely to face this issue. My username is "Pratyya Ghosh". Whenever I try to use that button to find my edit counts it takes me to XTools stating The requested user does not exist. I checked with several users. Usernames without any space work fine. But the problem stars when there is space in username. However, I haven't tried usernames with punctuation(s).

Hi @PratyyaGhosh, thanks for taking the time to report this. For future reference, please follow https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug
I don't understand what the problem is. Here is what I did:
- Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?target=Pratyya+Ghosh&namespace=all&tagfilter=&start=&end=&title=Special%3AContributions
- Go to the bottom; see the link "Edit count"
- See that "Edit count" link goes to https://xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/Pratyya%20Ghosh
- Click that link.
- See statistics as expected on https://xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/Pratyya%20Ghosh

This was an issue with the interface message, not XTools. Fixed with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer?diff=521996719
