At the moment, Growth features are deployed with a treatment group. It means that no all newcomers get the tools.
Some communities asked if it was possible to deploy to 100% of newcomers on their wiki. The reasons are:
- it would be unfair to have some users not getting the tools if these tools help them starting editing
- documentation is hard to maintain if only 80% have the access to the tools
- related, implementing the tools is done in Preferences, which is complicated for a beginner
Some features we deploy at the moment have been proven unharmful, such as the Homepage and the Help panel. What we need to test are tools within these "partent" tools, but not the parent tools anymore.
We also have some good reasons to have some features being deployed to all users for scaling purposes. With a 100% deployment of the features, we would skip the development of the following features for the homepage:
