Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi, I'm requesting to be added to the 'wmf' ldap group. I'm a full time WMF employee, and my wikitech username is User:JTanner (WMF)

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

Hey, @JTannerWMF,

I tried to search on my own for your LDAP/Developer account, but the one you provided (JTanner (WMF)) doesn't exist. I am adding @ggellerman to the ticket (apologies if this is unrelated, this is the person on my records that appears as the appropiate manager) to see if they can assist you with the request, to move it forward.

@ggellerman would you be so kindly to assist @JTannerWMF on providing the 4 items required to proceed with the request?

Thanks, @jcrespo ! I have added @JKatzWMF who is Jazmin's manager now.

Would you please let me know which records still list me as @JTannerWMF 's manager so that I can get them updated. Thanks!

@ggellerman Apologies for the mistake, I checked corporate ldap records, the one used for Google account authentication. Not sure if it is also used for some of the other hr tools like namely or it is independent.

Thanks, @jcrespo ! I'll ask IT if they can update ldap records to reflect @JTannerWMF 's current manager.

@ggellerman I just saw another mistake on the corporate ldap not being up to date in terms of management, so I will stop using it to locate managers and use some of the hr tools available. Apologies again.

No need to apologize, @jcrespo - you surfaced something that I did not know about that needs to be fixed. I thank you for that :)

@JKatzWMF thank you, could you help @JTannerWMF complete all required data to process the request, as per https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/ldap-access-requests/ ?

Hi @JTannerWMF I looked and it seems like you have two Developer accounts (aka wikitech/LDAP accounts):

Which one would you like to use? Please link one of them to your Phabricator account (see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Help#With_your_Wikimedia_Developer_account) and then I can add it to the wmf group.

Hi there sorry for the delayed response, for the sake of consistency JTanner works.

Change 658672 had a related patch set uploaded (by Legoktm; owner: Legoktm):
[operations/puppet@production] admin: Add jaz to list of privledged LDAP users

Legoktm claimed this task.

Done, you're now a member of the wmf group: https://ldap.toolforge.org/user/jaz. A tip that if you're asked for your "shell" username, it's jaz.
