Gadgets mean something very specific in Mediawiki/Wikimedia context, which is far from the "overall" meaning of this word. It should be clarified what is meant by this term in the context of the docs.
Probably "Tools" could also be explained, as it is not just any "software tool", isn't it?
"Bots" could possibly be considered clear enough and not very Mediawiki/Wikimedia/Wikipedia special?
