Hi, I have a suggestion.
- Insert a template with VE
- Switch from the input field to another with the tabulator key.
- It passes on the right buttons
- It is usually unnecessary and it wastes time
I propose to switch directly to the next field.

I understand the idea, but as Andre said, this would make it impossible to reach the skipped buttons for users that can't use a mouse.
As part of the WMDE-Templates-FocusArea project we plan to remove the [[]] button, or at least show it less often. We also plan to get rid of the (i) button and always show the description, without the need to press anything. I hope these changes will improve the situation you described.

Okkay, I understand. But I thinks that the vast majority of people use the tab key for win time, not for accessibility. Would it be possible to apply my proposal via a gadget ?

This was previously discussed in T70768, and I think there was another duplicate task (a bit more recent) that I can't find at the moment.
I agree the current behavior is annoying, but it's difficult to improve it without making the buttons inaccessible for pure keyboard navigation, or without redesigning the whole dialog (I guess WMDE's plan is to do that).
