For legacy reasons we still have WMCS contacts using the legacy paging system in icinga (as well as VO/splunk oncall). This task to confirm that we're ok to remove the legacy paging system from WMCS

I think this is likely fine -- currently I'm getting paged on multiple channels for everything that happens. When you actually implement the change can we cause a test alert just to double-check that we're still hearing about things?
For sure, do you have an alert that's easy to trigger on the icinga side and will page ? I'm doubtful anything will break since WMCS is fully on VO now and has been for a while, but if it is easy to do we should test
We are using the -email versions of our contacts in icinga, but we are not using the basic ones. I don't ever see a page directly via SMS. We do get emails from icinga, which we like.
Is that ok?
Yes that's ok! You'll keep receiving emails as usual for host/service alerts.
I've just removed the notify-by-sms-gateway notification commands, in other words you'll get splunk on call notifications only (which can include SMS of course, if so configured). Please let me know if anything is amiss!
