We want to re-calculate data for Special:Mute usage and the mute usage in general for the month of March 2021. We saw a spike at the end of July (T244781#6358015) and August (T262474) . We should look into the current status of the metrics.
Trend of traditional mute usage
Adoption of special mute
As we have added Special:mute event into event_sanitized table since October 2020, we have the historical data now. We are able to provide the data not only for current month, but also for previous months. In January 2021, the monthly usage hit its historical record of 266 .

Special mute user behavior analysis on option selection
Users have two options to select: mute notifications and mute email. The most two popular selection combinations are: 1) mute both notification and email, 2) mute notification only.
