libeatmydata ships an LD_PRELOAD hack which disables fsync() calls (which dpkg does quite a bit). For installations they aren't required (in the odd case of a power loss, we'd simply restart the installation anyway) and eatmydata ships a udeb. We should test this, evaluate how much it speeds up installs and if it's worth it, integrate it into our preseed config.s
