Mention QRank in “Analytics Datasets”
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Could https://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/analytics/ add a new, fourth bullet point under “Pageviews”, maybe like this?

  • QRank: A ranking signal for Wikidata entities, periodically computed by aggregating pageviews on all Wikimedia projects in all languages.

Apologies for this shameless plug (as the author of QRank, I feel uneasy about such promotion), but my hope is that the ranking signal would be generally useful to others. Hence this ticket. Maybe there’s also some other datasets that get regularly computed by the community in Wikimedia’s cloud.

Event Timeline

@ArielGlenn thoughts?

I suppose we could just add a link to this dataset on toolforge from https://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/analytics/? Should we? Do we do that anywhere else on dumps (i.e. link to external datasources?).

We do, but not on that page. If this is related to page views, maybe we should add it directly to https://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/pageviews/readme.html, which could probably use some reformatting.

fdans moved this task from Incoming to Datasets on the Analytics board.
fdans added a project: Analytics-Kanban.
