Creating a wikilink between all wikis through visual editor
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Hi,
I'm a sysop on french wikipedia, but I'm a newbie on phabricator.
I don't know where to looking for if this topic has already been discussed.
When you create a wikilink through the visual editor, is it possible to suggest the pre-existing articles from the other wikis (not only pre-existing articles from your own wiki) ?
I know that it is possible to create interwiki-links through models.
I think that it may promote article creations (giving new ideas of article creations).
Thank you for your comments.

If you speak french, you may see an identical description of this idea on https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Questions_techniques/semaine_14_2021#Editeur_visuel_et_interwikis

Hi @OT38, thanks for taking the time to report this and welcome to Wikimedia Phabricator!
Is this a support question (how to change settings, questions how to do something, etc.), or is this a feature request?
For the latter, please follow the scheme on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug and structure your task description. Thanks.

Hi
This is a support question : the main request is creating interwiki-links & suggest pre-existing articles from the other wikis through the visual editor without using interwikilinks model (coming out with a suggestion list).

hi @OT38 – welcome to Phabricator...we appreciate you taking the time to share this idea here ^ _ ^

Can you share with us what is leading you to want to be able to easily link to a page in another project?

To be transparent, this is not likely functionality the Editing Team will be able to work on in the near future. Although, understanding what brought this idea to mind for you will be helpful to our future selves if/when we can think about this.
