Anyways, To reproduce, simply go to a page that does not have any discussion at all yet and hit the red word Discussions; you'll see throughout the process we think we are creating a new discussion...

I think this is happening because the discussion you started does not have a header.

The mobile talk page only supports discussions with headers.
The talk page feature is in the process of being replaced by DiscussionTools which will address this problem so we have no plans to fix the existing implementation.,=
