I wonder to what degree there is overlap between this project and sre-sandbox

This project is different to sre-sandbox in that i want the machines there to be permanent and not get auto deleted.
in relation to sre-sandbox, In all honesty sit has not been as useful as i expected it to be, i think i have used it once not sure about other. however since requesting sre-sandbox i have built a local kvm box which probably serves a similar purpose to what i envisaged sre-sandbox doing
