As an alternative to run Wikispeech as an extension it would be possible to run it as a gadget. This will require a MW-server with Wikispeech installed and a Speechoid server ("producer"). Other wiki(s) ("consumers") can then send request to that server for segmenting, utterances etc.
This will make it possible to use Wikispeech on WP without the extension being installed on WMFs servers. This is inteded to be a temporary solution until the extension can be properly deployed.
