Just taking a look at phab.wmflabs.org, there is no clear indication for me that it is a testing instance. It should be more clearly marked as such, with potentially a "description section" (as is used to hold links and information on this instance) indicating that it is a testing instance.

At least one user mistakenly went to phabricator.wmcloud.org from https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator and did not notice it is a separate website. I feel like that should be easy to add at least on the homepage, preferably in big enough letters.
I reset my account using the "auth recover" shell command and logged in.
Then went to setting and changed the "ui.logo wordmark" to "Phabricator - TEST only" and the header color to red instead of blue.
How's that?
Could you maybe also add a panel to the home page like we have here (‘Welcome to Wikimedia Phabricator’ one) with some short text basically saying it is a test instance, and linking to phabricator.wikimedia.org? I think if you do, this task can be marked as resolved.
Sure, I just don't know yet how to do that and if it will be overwritten on every deploy.
Done on https://phabricator.wmcloud.org/, might even last. (Note to my future self: Use /dashboard/panel/edit/, /dashboard/edit/form/default/, then Add Dashboard to Menu 🡒 Add to Home Page Menu 🡒 Add to Global Home Menu then move on /home/menu/configure/global/. Not obvious at all.)
I think we're good. Thanks Dzahn for looking into this.
