Setting project to Wikimedia-Site-requests, as this request is about settings / configuration of a Wikimedia website (see also https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes ).

Is there something you want to accomplish that normal category pages (example) do not accomplish?

2 alternatives, in case helpful, depending on what your desired use-cases are...
I.e. Do you just want an alphabetical listing of pages within a category, or do you want an chronologically-ordered-by-last-update listing? And, does it need to be embedded within the page, or can it be a link?

(1) For an alphabetical and embedded listing, we can use CategoryTree

• Example: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_at_WMF#Pages_in_the_MediaWiki_production_category
• Docs: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CategoryTree

(2) For a chronological but linked listing, we can use the default Special:RecentChangesLinked feature. That page will show details about each change directly within the output. However it cannot be embedded directly within the page, only linked-to.

• Example: for the "Cloud Services" category (using my custom colors)
• Basic page: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:RecentChangesLinked
