Apologies for pinging during All Hands week, we just got an inquiry from a New York Times reporter who is working on a piece about the riot at the Capitol (I'm copy + pasting the original inquiry below).
Our team was planning to point him to the pageviews tool for information on pageviews for the two articles listed (ex. we pulled this query for one of the articles), but we weren't sure if there is any specific pageview data available about images on Commons?
And just to confirm - pageview data is captured in UTC, correct?
I'm a reporter with The New York Times reporting on the riot at the Capitol on January 6th.
A Senate investigation reported that traffic to web pages with U.S. Capitol ground plans received increased traffic in the weeks prior to the riot. Did Wikipedia receive noticeable traffic to these pages showing the Capitol floor plan and information prior to January 6 2021? If so, could you indicate how much of an increase? Thanks, Malachy
