Interesting. I think "score" is maybe a more modern and/or US English term, but in the copyright/royalty world, incidental music is very much in use to describe music used in films and on tv

Maybe, but we just call that "motion picture music" and "television music", so there you go. We definitely keep our genre very tightly controlled. I'm fine with broadening the definition, I just think we'll need two items, one for the traditional definition of random music that plays during a stage play, and this broader, newer definition.

right, I also suggest splitting articles between 'general concept' and 'theatrical'. and also somehow to write the differences between incidental and score

so perhaps incidental music should be AKA for both score and theatrical music (not sure where if it should be the main name for any of them)?
