Filters and results not accessible in small device without touch

Description

List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):

  • Access Media search
  • Search for some resources
  • Shrink the Screen to have a small Width

What happens?:

  • A gradien shows and the filter and some of the results become unaccessible

What should have happened instead?:

  • The user should have the chance to access the filter outside of the viewport

@SimoneThisDot Can you elaborate a bit on a "small device without touch"? Are you referring to a desktop computer with the viewport really small and no trackpad or more as an accessibility issue on mobile web on a phone?

@mwilliams @Aklapper You first assumption is correct. I refer to a desktop computer with a small viewport!

I tent to split my windows in half (one browser on each side) and doing so will make it impossible to "scroll" the filter tab.

Checked on commons wmf.2 - on small screen sizes the filters are reachable by horizontal scrolling.

Tested

  • on Desktop (Vector skin) small window sizes
  • on Desktop Minerva skin
  • mobile devices (for possible regression)

The bug with the broken display of drop-down menu is fixed too (below is the screenshot with the bug that was fixed):
