Description

Hi there,
I've tried, several times, in one as well in split files, to upload a record of a recent Board of Trustees candidates presentation to Wikimedia Commons. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

Could somebody do this for me via a server-side upload? Thank you.

I'm not sure that Commons supports mp4 files, am I right?

Damn', I need I had forgotten something. I'm sorry. Just struggling with both, converting & uploading.

If anyone would like to experiment with re-encoding locally from MP4 to WebM, you could e.g. ffmpeg -i source.mp4 -c:v libvpx-vp9 -b:v 0.4M -c:a libopus -b:a 64k -filter:v scale=960x540 target.webm (or some values like that; 0.4M would be bitrate, 64k would be audio quality, and filter scale would decrease the resolution if that's wanted.)

I reuploaded the file to https://martin.urbanec.cz/files/wmf-rehosting/T287482/GMT20210723-170529_Recording_1920x1080.mp4 and started a job in https://video2commons.toolforge.org. File was downloaded to the tool's temp storage, and is now converting it to webm. Let's see if it also manages to upload it.
