I can actually create tags User-IN to do the same thing, can you help me create it?

Are you asking for a user project?

You need to create a task, like the subtasks of T555.

I changed this task.

How would a tag benefit you over the standard phab queries & dashboards.

Urbanecm claimed this task.
Urbanecm subscribed.

I went ahead and created the requested project. For better or for worse, user projects became a standard part of Wikimedia Phabricator, and I don't see a reason to deny this project, with number of similar projects already existing. Please find standard info message below.

Requested public project User-IN has been created: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/view/5508/.

Feel free to watch the project in order to receive notifications on task updates.

Recommended practices for project and workboard management in Phabricator are available.

Feel free to bring up any questions you might have about Phabricator or about best ways to manage projects in Phabricator.

Enjoy!

This user is named IN, not Q28. I corrected the project tag name.

Aklapper renamed this task from Create User-Q28 project to Create User-IN project for IN / Q28.Aug 29 2021, 9:12 AM

The user IN has *created* 18 tasks so far. There are also exactly these 18 tasks tagged with User-IN now.
That means https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/query/authored/ offers this already, with way less noise than right now (in addition to the many notofications already created by filing some not very helpful tickets anyway).
@IN: What are the actual and specific use cases for this project tag? Do you plan to also work on / fix some tasks yourself?
I'm asking as wee don't want tags (and more and more notifications) for the sake of having more tags. Thanks.

I'll try to reproduce some of the bugs, and when I do, I'll tag the task as User-IN. The other is to add calcium tablets to the task I created.

I do not know what that is.

Sorry, just because I used the translator, and then the translator is wrong. What I mean is that if I create a task, that task will be marked User-IN.

@IN: Hi, I don't see a usecase for the workboard columns "Feature request", "Invalid task", "Won't fix", "Fixed bug". All this information is already expressed via task status, or the "Feature" task type, so I don't understand why there are also columns for this.
Moving tasks manually on the workboard creates comments and notifications for others. I don't see a real gain here. Thanks.

If the task I create is actually of type “feature”, then it will be move to the "feature request" column.

If the task I create is actually of type “invalid”, then it will be move to the "Invalid task" column. Because it will only display the status as Open, In Progress and Stalled, this column doesn't seem to have a task.

If the task I create is actually of type “decline”, then it will be move to the "Rejected task" column. Because it will only display the status as Open, In Progress and Stalled, this column doesn't seem to have a task.

If the task I create is actually of type “resolved”, then it will be move to the "Task resolved" column. Because it will only display the status as Open, In Progress and Stalled, this column doesn't seem to have a task.

@IN: I wrote "All this information is already expressed via task status, or the "Feature" task type, so I don't understand why there are also columns for this." You did not reply to this, I'm afraid it's still unclear why this user project exists, and which actual (!) and real (!) problem it solves.

All data on the workboard can already be seen without adding that user project tag, without moving tasks on the workboard, without creating notifications for everyone else.

And my question was which problem is solved by this.
You can already filter the board to show tasks marked as a feature, without manually moving of a task to that column, and without creating move notifications. But I already wrote that before.

I propose to deactivate this user project.

For example, this makes no sense, but tagging and moving creates notification noise:

Don't disable it.
