In CAT suggest items based on coordinates of image
Open, Needs TriagePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary:
CAT is using Google Vision algorithm to suggested tags. It would be nice if CAT could use coordinates stored in image EXIF to suggest nearby wikidata items (with coords), using for example, SPARQL wikibase:around function.

Use case(s)
All CAT users with geolocated images

Benefits
Better CAT results, more SDC tags.

Yes it is. First sentence from paragraph 3 from the wiki page you linked above says

Computer-aided tagging is a stand-alone MediaWiki extension and is not a core part of Commons itself, and ties into Commons using Special:SuggestedTags.

That stand-alone MediaWiki extension is the MachineVision extension, which has been archived, and Special:SuggestedTags is no longer a valid page.

I understand that you're asking us to suggest tags based on something other than machine vision, but the extension that powers CAT is gone
