Most of the KaiOS devices out there are running version 2.5 of the OS, which is built on Firefox 48.
It looks like the biggest carriers have pushed updates to their users to resolve the problem but devices used only with wifi (without a valid contract and sim card), that includes all our testing devices, are broken with no clear solution.
This is mostly an FYI of the situation. Not expecting anyone fixing those devices.

I'm not familiar with KaiOS so forgive me if it's a stupid question but does that mean that WiFi-only devices are unsupported and missing security updates?
Yes, pretty much. I've seen a Nokia device getting a bunch of updates on first power up but that's like 2 years ago and nothing since.
