Add an image: remove image tasks from feed for quality gate
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

In T293316: Add an image: minimal quality gate, we specified that once a user has hit their limit of image suggestions for the day, their suggested edits feed might continue to have image suggestions, but they are given a dialog after they tap any on an image suggestion task.

In this task (which is for after Iteration 1), we actually want to remove those image tasks from the feed. TBD on exactly how this will work.

Event Timeline

I would propose we defer design/development on this until after we see how often people encounter the quality gate for daily limit in practice. From an engineering standpoint, we can serve the user an alternate set of tasks when they are loading Special:Homepage but then from a user experience perspective, it might be confusing why the image ones have disappeared.

@kostajh -- yes, I agree. This task is mapped under T293711: [EPIC] "Add an image" Iteration 2 to indicate that it's not part of Iteration 1 (and that's why it's not in Ready for Development). Do you think that it should be off the sprint board?

Yes, I think it will be less confusing if it's not in current sprint. I'm moving it off for that reason (but feel free to move back if you feel otherwise).

@KStoller-WMF I think this is another task we might want to decline. It's relevant for users who are reaching their daily limit of "add image" tasks, AIUI, this is a very small portion of the overall user base.

Agreed, I think the current UX is acceptable for the small percentage of newcomers that reach their daily task limit.
