AWB thinks that hatnote templates should be moved outside the Hatnote group template that encloses them. To demonstrate, run general fixes on enwiki Trickle-down economics.
No, I'd never seen this template before, either.

I wasn't familiar with this template either, until someone showed me that my AWB bot did this:

It's been a year since this task was created. Could we please get an update?
For another example, try running AWB on Peter Brook.
AWB tries to move About above hatnote group
Note that a year ago, there were around 40 transclusions of this template. Now there are 300 and this is causing problems much more frequently.
Another bad edit: Special:Diff/1171386250. I added hatgrp --> hatnote group to WP:AWB/TR in anticipation of the fix for this issue.
Another bad edit: Special:Diff/1177545490. There are now 655 transclusions of hatnote group. Looking forward to a fix soon!
@Reedy - Could you please release a new version of AWB with this fix included? I keep getting complaints of bot edits that mess up this template. Thanks!
Why is this task marked as resolved when AWB has not yet been updated?
(@Reedy not being around to make an update is unfortunate, but the solution to the underlying problem is not for Reedy to reappear and release a new version — it's for us to move away from a non-web-based implementation of AWB that has only major releases and that has a bus problem.)
@Sdkb - For an unofficial release that contains this fix, see :en:Wikipedia talk:AutoWikiBrowser#Unofficial release
