Investigate technical complexity: dual leaderboard for wishes
Closed, DeclinedPublicSpike

Description

Investigate technical complexity and risks for the following:

CommTech is considering implementing two boards for the 2022 wishlist survey:

  • One unfiltered, "all wishes" leaderboard, ordered by vote count
  • One board filtered by those tagged by CommTech team, sorted alphabetically (assuming there already exists a way to tag individual wishes)

Scenario one:
Given the 2022 Community Wishlist Survey is open for voting;
When votes are tallied;
And a wish has been tagged with some kind of "CommTech" label by the CommTech team;
Then the wish appears in both the unfiltered "all wishes" leaderboard AND the filtered leaderboard.

Scenario two:
Given the 2022 Community Wishlist Survey is open for voting;
When votes are tallied;
And a wish has NOT been tagged with the "CommTech" label by the CommTech team;
Then the wish ONLY appears in both the unfiltered "all wishes" leaderboard.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Technical complexity, requirements we haven't already discussed, and any risks to the approach as documented as a comment within this task, or as a separate document.

I think clarifying that the second one is not a leaderboard but a "board" is important

I think if we let the people vote on wishes that no team has signed up to work on, it could come off as misleading which we don't want! I think it would turn into a more looked-at archived board that people can go check out!

Discussed at 20 Dec wishlist check-in:
Our approach is shifting to a separate "Suggestion Box" page, not a dual leaderboard.
