Description

We want to test the design of our new desktop control banner. The banner is based on last year's variant banner, but the control banner will also change.

Acceptance Criteria

  • A slider is added to the control banner.
  • The variant banner is implemented as seen in the design file.
  • The slides on both banners contain the copy defined in the table below.
  • Both banners show a progress bar.
  • Banners have a similar height.
  • The automatic sliding stops when interacting with the banner form (control) or clicking the donation button (variant).
  • The number of seen slides and the number of the slide visible is logged when clicking the submit button (control) or the donation button (variant).
  • The automatic sliding stops when interacting with the form.
  • The number of seen slides and the number of the active slide is logged when clicking the submit button of the form.

kai.nissen moved this task from Backlog to Sprint ready on the WMDE-Fundraising-Tech board.

The white border of the inactive slider pagination dots on the grey background of the slides looks a bit weird. Is this the intended design?

@AbbanWMDE I found some issues here:

General

  • There was a typo in the task description. The third slide should say "Die meisten Menschen spenden, weil sie Wikipedia nützlich finden." instead of "Die meisten Menschen spenden, weil Sie Wikipedia nützlich finden."
  • The banners don't trigger close click and form submit events.

Control banner

  • The banner has the paginator egg issue on Chrome.
  • The banner is way higher. Can you reduce the overall height by decreasing the button height, the spacing between the button groups and around the form?

Variant banner

  • The form submit button does not turn blue when all fields are selected.

@kai.nissen These issues should be fixed now. I console logged the submit and close events locally to make sure they're firing, and they're both triggering

@AbbanWMDE I still wasn't able to trigger submit events. Close button works fine. The paginator egg issue is still in the banner on Central Notice. Locally, it's fixed. Maybe a deployment issue?

@kai.nissen It all looks like it's working fine to me, I can see the submit events and everything. I did another test and re-uploaded the banners anyway.

Thanks, @AbbanWMDE. The eggs are gone now. Submit events are still not triggered on Chrome. On Firefox it works fine.

@AbbanWMDE Aaaand another one (to three):

  • There is a button ("vierteljährlich") missing from the payment intervals in the variant banner.
  • The amount buttons are should fit into one line (it's like that in the English one).
  • The control banner is 30 to 50 pixels higher in portrait mode.

Okay, I fixed the form, and did my best to even out the heights

@AbbanWMDE Height is fine, I think. Interval button, too. Did you try the amount options in one line? Wouldn't work in the two column layout, though.

Probably everthing is fixed, just needs a redeployment.

@kai.nissen These are now uploaded and ready to go
