First static PNG, rendered (and backend-cached) directly after saving of page, containing newly added mapframe, tends to be wrong. Either blank world map (in case of OSM relation linked shape maps), or map with pointer icon missing (in case of point maps). It takes some time (order of ~10 hours; backend cache TTL, I suppose) for preview to get re-rendered correctly.
PNG rendered later (even 2x preview of the same map, requested from mobile device or after zooming-in using desktop browser) is rendered correctly.
Example:
- maplink/mapframe addition:
- incorrect preview - blank world map (1x default):

- correctly rendered preview (2x alternative from srcset)

List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):
- mapframe added: https://sk.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=7261470
What happens?:
- static map (1x) contains blank world map instead of correct preview. 2x alternative requested seconds later is OK.
What should have happened instead?:
- correct preview should be returned
