The existing mr1-eqsin is an older SRX device, which is both nearing end of life and lacks some of the desired features of the new SRX.

Potential Blockers & Callouts

• scs connectivity: netops will need to be able to connect to the new SRX and deploy its configuration, but the existing mr1-eqsin is the direct connection for asw/msw/scs links. The scs will need to be migrated elsewhere that is accessible to netops so they can setup the new SRX device.
• scheduling: Previous work with netops and Jin was done when Arzhel was in Pacific timezone, but we can have Jin show up when it would overlap with someone in netops. Rob is happy to assist Jin remotely, but lacks the in depth configuration knowledge needed to deploy a new SRX device without issues.
• Jin communicates to us when onsite via a google hangout chat room (text, not voice/video) setup and used for this purpose. Whoever is assisting him can be added to the chat.

Per host setup checklist

new mr1-eqsin:

• - shipment arrives onsite via shipment notification notice to rob
• - onsite work scheduled.
• - netops backs up the configuration of the existing mr1-eqsin.
• - receive in system on procurement task T292015 & in coupa
• - address scs connectivity issue called out in above call out section, replace this checkbox with the action items needed to fix it by Jin onsite
• - old mr1 confirmed wiped
• - old mr1 pulled, replaced with new mr1, all cables that can just be reused will be, any cable changes will be noted and cable IDs recorded by Jin and provided to us
• - confirmed new mr1 accessible via scs

Once the system(s) above have had all checkbox steps completed, this task can be resolved.
