[Special:TopicSubscriptions] Make it easier to identify discussions with comments you have not read
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

This ticket is inspired by the feedback @MilkyDefer shared on mediawiki.org here: Topic:Whqbnqk1055oyyh5.

This ticket is about evolving the table that appears on/within Special:TopicSubscriptions to make it easier to identify discussions with activity you have not yet seen.

User Story

This story needs some refinement.
As someone who is involved and/or interested in many on-wiki discussions, I want there to be one place where I can see which of these conversations have new activity within them that I have not yet seen, so that I can get up-to-date about, and potentially participate in, the discussions I am interested in.

Ideas

  • Change the background of rows/discussions within the Special:TopicSubscriptions table that contain comments I have not yet read [i]
  • Bold the text within the rows/discussions within the Special:TopicSubscriptions table that contain comments I have not yet read [i]
  • Show the date when the last edit was made/comment was posted to the discussion and provide a direct link to this comment [i][ii]
