This task will track the racking, setup, and OS installation of (2) MX80 routers that are in our racks (but not wired up at the time of this task filing) and slated for decommission/disposal when we receive enough items there to warrant a decom/recycling pickup.
Since these were there, we can press them into emergency service in drmrs.

Even though the locations are listed in there as differing racks, they are NOT racked or wired in, and they also likely are both currently in rack 23 (as they had to move to rack the new cp hosts last month.) The scs in in rack 22, so it is likely easiest for me (Rob) to move these both into 22 and wire them into the SCS and either the asw or msw switch as detailed by netops.
ulsfo setup checklist
- - netops detail what ports in rack 22 to plug the 'mgmt' link on these routers into (need 2 ports) - just wire mgmt to mgmt switches in each rack
- - rob goes onsite to wire the two mx80s into power, serial (rob can allocate these ports), and network (allocated by netops)
- - rob tests ability to connect via serial.
- - rob checks if there are any spares XFPs in the racks (if so, to be shipped with the routers)
- - attach photos of the front and back panels of each router to this task for future remote hands instruction
- - handoff to netops for remote setup of the two routers
- - willy contacting Juniper to get (2) shipping crates for the MX80 routers and have them shipped to ulsfo
- - rob packages routers for shipment
- - router shipment must have the delivery ticket number (filed when we are ready to ship it) on the packages or they will be refused by Interxion.
- - routers shipped to drmrs
