Analyze effect of exposing talk pages to mobile anons on reading behavior
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Background

In T293946: Enable talk for mobile users on enwiki, we introduced a change that allows mobile anons to see the talk tab at the top of the page. We would like to analyze what impact this change had on the overall reading behavior on mobile talk pages as well as on the mobile website as a whole.

List of research questions

  1. Does this change increase the amount of vandalism and other non-related content on talk pages
  2. Do reader understand this change and how to interact with the new elements
    • Did this change have any effect on how long readers spend on talk pages
    • Are readers interacting with talk pages? What is the bounce rate?
    • What are the overall pageviews on talk pages before and after the change? How many of those pageviews results in an action taken?
