Description (read the best practices and include a sentence understandable to the public and without "This project is for tracking work related to..." noise, plus a link to further information!):

The Schematree is a recommendation service for Wikidata. Specifically, it recommends new properties for entities, given the set of current properties and types of the entity.

To compute the recommendations, the Schematree uses a maximum-likelihood estimation, which is computed from a pre-computed index. More information from the academic paper on the SchemaTree

@Michaelcochez: Thanks! Where exactly would the codebase be located (URL), and service hosted (if the latter makes sense and if this is separate)? I assume other Wikidata folks are aware and agree to have a separate project tag on this?

agree to have a separate project tag

I really do not know. I started this request because of the suggestion in https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T292110
Besides, the tag MediaWiki-extensions-PropertySuggester already exists. What we are working on in the Schematree_recommender is a different backend for that extension. So an option would be to 'hijack' that tag.

It's really up to you and who is involved in those projects that already have project tags here (and you probably know the folks way better than I do). :)

I think we can use the existing one and clean it up to be about the general feature of Property suggestions, independent of the backend.

Michaelcochez added a subscriber: Martaannaj.

Ok, I added myself and @Martaannaj to MediaWiki-extensions-PropertySuggester and change the status to declined (not sure that is the right status, should it be resolved?)
