Description

User story

As a user, I want to know where to go to create a Wikistory on a topic of knowledge I am interested in, so that I can create a story related to the article.

Request:

Create a visual call to action (CTA) at the top of a Wikipedia article they are viewing inviting them to create a Wikistory about the current article

Last week, @AMuigai, @SBisson, and I discussed this and concluded that the creation call-to-action (the plus button leading to the story builder) should be visible only to logged-in users, in order to prevent a community from receiving a large influx of creations that they would have to moderate even before figuring out how they want to use and regulate Wikistories. This might be changed after the product matures and the community becomes more comfortable with it.

Contrary opinions welcome, but otherwise, I think that's the plan.

@nshahquinn-wmf you're right but we'll do it as a second step. Our goal for February is to put something functional in betalabs. I would like to approach the "logged in users only" feature as a second step during March, with the rest of the instrumentation/experimentation requirements.

That makes sense! Thank you for explaining.

Testing:
AC1. For Wikipages that do not have content, the create wikistory button should not be visible: PASSED.

AC2. For Wikipages that have content but do not have stories, the CTA to create a story should be present. PASSED.

Thoughts:
a. Currently, this create story CTA is aligned left and when a story is created, it moves to the right. For consistency, I think it should be permanently on the right.

This is on purpose, based on the design requirement.

Thank you, Huei.

@SGautam_WMF , do you see this as a potential improvement?

Thanks @EUdoh-WMF, it's a good point, I did a quick mock to see how right placement would look like. In absence of stories this look far from article title and might get less attention from users. For now, we can proceed with the existing design and test more on it during the usability testing. Let me know if you have any additional thoughts on this.
