Request increased quota for wikiapiary Cloud VPS project

Description

Project Name: wikiapiary
Type of quota increase requested: cpu/ram/disk
Reason: The entire cpu/ram/disk quota is currently being consumed with a single g2.cores8.ram16.disk160 flavored instance with a stretch image. This should be upgraded to a buster image, but this will require additional cpu/ram/disk quota temporarily to create the new image and copy over the content. Once the new instance is operational, the stretch instance can be deleted and the quota may be lowered.

Note that the plan is that both of these projects will eventually move to other hosting, but they are not ready to do so yet.

Thank you for the distro upgrades! For tracking purposes I'd appreciate it if you can create a separate ticket for mwstake and retitle this one to refer to just wikiapiary.

As an aside -- can you tell me more about the your plans to move off of cloud-vps hosting? Or link me to a discussion about same?

This resulted from a conversation I had with @bd808 about scarce Cloud VPS resources. The MediaWiki Stakeholders' Group would like to be good citizens and find alternate hosting, but we have not been able to do so yet.

I've doubled your RAM and CPU quota so that you can create a new Buster VM. Note that when creating the new VM you'll be using the g3.cores8.ram16.disk20 flavor. For your big /srv volume you'll then want to create and attach a cinder volume. Directions about how to do that are at

Please reopen this ticket when you've deleted the old Stretch VM so that we can reclaim the quota.

I checked back with Bryan about this and the only thing we could think of was possibly an old request for a vanity domain that was declined; if you're happy with the resources currently provided for this project you are definitely welcome to continue to use our service; no migration needed!
