Steps to reproduce
- In the android app, open an article, preferably one with many images. That might matter, I'm not sure.
- Tap on an image and start swiping through the gallery.
Expected results
Image captions are visible in the image viewer by default. By tapping the image, image caption visibility will be toggled. This state is retained among all the images. In other words, if you turn off captions, they will stay off, even when you go to the next image. And if you don't turn off captions, they will remain visible when you go to the next image.
Actual results
Caption visibility is unpredictable.
Sometimes it works just as described above.
But more often than not, it breaks. Those times, image caption visibility is not constant, but is rather toggled on and off, seemingly at random, when swiping through the images. Here are two videos that demonstrate this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8c8yLLuTzY6S4PWC8 . Note that the toggle-pattern is not the same.
If one wants to turn the captions on again when they have been turned off from this bug, tapping the image does not work. Instead, one must swipe to a different image and back, which works most of the time, but not always. Here's a video that demonstrates this. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8sBZKUp8aRPjLE6t9
