when editing a table, the visual editor on the mobile page does not allow to mark cells via pinching, and edit via press. hence it does not show unmerge cell e.g.

thank you @Aklapper, so you say this is a bug not a not yet implemented feature :) here you go:
- on a laptop with chrome or firefox, open https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristiano_Ronaldo#/editor/35
- click into a cell marked with a long dash "-"
- the cell is not marked and there is no obvious way to press "split"
same is for "merge". no obvious way to mark two cells.

Mobile defaults to table content editing. To select cells you need to click the icon in the top left corner:
