I have a messy talk page moving history, turn on/off Flow/Structured Discussion more than one time, and the change of my Username in between has made this worse.

Here are the pages related:

I'm not sure about the capability of Flow talk page manager moving talk page archive back to the talk page if it had been moved to another location.

I don't really know what happened, please help me.

(At the same time, I suffer from bug T294675 until this day [it is clearly not resolved], which makes adjusting my talk page's content model setting harder.)

(While this could be a separate problem, I suppose when my Username changed, my first Flow talk page didn't move with it?)

Ericliu1912 renamed this task from Structured Discussions workflow is not associated with Ericliu1912's talkpage to Structured Discussions workflow is not associated with talk page.Jan 1 2022, 6:02 PM

Same issue with my French Wikipedia talk page. About my case, I have not change my username, I just only disabled my Flow talk page.

I add some tags:

I think it's because that you had moved the archive page? (as the page history shows)

Actually, I have not moved the archive page, but replaced its wikitext content with a redirection syntax.

I just want to get my talk page back... Can anyone help?

@Pols12 @Ericliu1912 hopefully this fixes the issue for you?

Thanks a lot! That at least made my talk page not broken as for now. But am I able to disable Structured Discussions? It would probably break down again if I do that.

@Ericliu1912 maybe try it and see? If if breaks, I can re-run the script so it's unbroken, and then we will have to figure out what to do next.

OK I'd tried it, and it is now dead again. It seems that I would be "stuck in Flow" forever lol

Oh dear. OK, I've rerun the script, it should be back to its Structured Discussion state.

I think one reason could be that I'd moved my Wikitext talk page archive from User talk:Ericliu1912/存档 2 (the default) to User talk:Ericliu1912/存檔 2 to User talk:Ericliu1912/存檔 3, which made the Flow talk page manager very confused when trying to revert the Wikitext talk page back since User talk:Ericliu1912/存档 2 is a redirect now, and just decide to give up halfway through (as my Structured Discussion description did have the archive template, I'd say that the convert script is not completely broken). Maybe.

Could we made Flow talk page manager track the movement?

Thank you, my page is “fixed”, however it is still in Flow state whereas my beta preference is unchecked.

Since Flow is deprecated, we surely want a way to safely disable those pages.

If I revert my change which turned the archive into a redirection, will this allow me to disable Flow? If so, should I then check and uncheck the beta feature, or proceed to a classical move?

Well now I just want to safely disable my Structured Discussion user talk page, have it peacefully moved to the archive, and never turn it back on ever again. can anyone help?

:(

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

It should be possible to do that. Can you try moving the talk page to a subpage and then switch off the Structured Discussions feature for your talk page in preferences? I know that @Urbanecm_WMF was able to do this on Wikidata (diff).

I think only administrators have the right to create Structured Discussions boards in any location. Therefore I can't move the page myself.

That edit was made by me disabling the flow talk page beta function in my own preferences. I can try to move it for you manually, but I think it's best if the beta feature is first off in any case.

I've disable the feature in the beta tab. If could, please move the page to somewhere like "User talk:Ericliu1912/存檔 4".

Thanks @Ericliu1912 -- I tried to do the move from my WMF account, and it appears to be successful. Can you check the move is okay (and let me know if I need to do anything else)?

I think it is alright, and I sincerely thank you and @kostajh for your help!

Done. Can you check please?

That works well, many thanks! 🙂
