Hello,
About 28 hours ago (2011-3-4, 7 am UTC+1), fr:User:Céréales_Killer renamed fr:User:Mikeread to fr:User:Mike_Coppolano but got a server error (“Wikimedia error”), resulting in the account as well as the user pages being renamed but without the contributions (which remain attributed to fr:User:Mikeread).
Then, as new contributions were attributed to fr:User:Mikeread, fr:User:Céréales_Killer renamed fr:User:Mike_Coppolano to fr:User:Mike_Coppolano_old and fr:User:Mikeread to fr:User:Mike_Coppolano (again), resulting in the account being renamed with the new contributions (but without the old ones, which still remain attributed to fr:User:Mikeread).
Today, the situation is as follow:
- An account fr:User:Mikeread created yesterday with the contributions of the original account plus 5 new contributions, an editcount of 5 and no log
- An account fr:User:Mike_Coppolano created yesterday with 33 contributions, an editcount of 33 and no log
- An account fr:User:Mike_Coppolano_old created in 2008 with no contribution, an editcount of 20997 and the logs of the original account
What I understand is that the original account is now fr:User:Mike_Coppolano_old, as expected after having been renamed twice, but it is still missing its contributions 28 hours after the original renaming.
Is it possible that renaming an user isn't atomic, ie. that because of the server error, the contributions remain attributed to fr:User:Mikeread? If so, could a sysadm please fix this inconsistency? If not, how long can it take for the contributions to be attributed to the right account?
