There are a ton of freely licensed scientific images at media.springernature.com;
I'd love to be able to bring some of them to commons semi-automatically.

This specific image seems to be embedded in https://hmr.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s10152-020-0534-x ; however also see https://www.springernature.com/gp/librarians/licensing
Thank you for the replies. @4nn1l2 as @Aklapper mentioned, image is released in CC-BY at https://hmr.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s10152-020-0534-x
For automatic uploads, I'd query the CrossRef API and make sure that the article is released in a compatible license for other images too.
No updates, otherwise they'd be listed here. Anyone is welcome to propose a patch. If you'd like to, please see "Add a website to CopyUploadsDomains (e.g. for GWToolset)" on https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_site_requests - thanks!
I think we need some discussion here - not sure if such license (mentioned on https://www.springernature.com/gp/librarians/licensing) acceptable for commons. @TiagoLubiana Would you like to start a discussion on COM:VPC?
No response for a while, so closing. New request should be filled onwiki per https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Upload_tools/wgCopyUploadsDomains.
