Edit suggestions doesn't work on mobile with desktop view
Closed, DeclinedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

List of steps to reproduce

  1. Use Android phone (not sure if it's OS related)
  2. Open browser (Firefox or Chrome, maybe others too)
  3. Open Wikipedia and use the desktop view

What happens?:
When you start typing into the search box
-on Chrome: type something and press space and then backspace, otherwise you don't get any search suggestions
-on Firefox: type something and you get results after pressing space; search suggestions doesn't follow what you type unless you press space

What should have happened instead?:
I should get search suggestions immediately after start typing like in the mobile view and on PC/laptop.
I created a video to show the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t_7jqvcaKw --> Firefox from 0:00 and Chrome from 1:16.

@Stryn - we've been working on some improvements to the search widget on desktop that are available via opting into the Desktop Improvements project (opting out of legacy Vector) in your preferences. I can confirm this issue is not present there.
