@4nn1l2 reported the following error while trying this out:
There was a problem during the HTTP request: 432
It looks like PeerJ respond to HTTP requests without certain headers with the custom HTTP status “432” – someone on StackOverflow had the same issue. I think we’ll have to revert this; if anybody has contacts at PeerJ, feel free to tell them to fix their server, I’m pretty sure we won’t introduce custom code just for them on our end.
That's disappointing. I tried to email their support address, but the email bounced (apparently it's a Google Group that doesn't accept emails). I suppose this will have to be reverted.
