Omit redirects from search results
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Forked off T73491...

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
In searching, I would like to be able to restrict results to actual pages (omit redirects).

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):
The use-case is when trying to resolve page-naming controversies (or more mildly, how to name new pages) I want to look at precedent. And that means the actual pages alone (for example, not redirects resulting from page-moves or other non-MOS names). So for my uses it would be an additional option to intitle:. I could envision it as an optional additional token to type in the search-box, or a checkbox in the advanced-search mode form, or an include/exclude-redirects toggle in the results page. Special:WhatLinksHere already has this option in its results page.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
See use-cases above.

Assuming that this is about a Wikimedia wiki (please include URLs in steps whenever possible), this seems to be about CirrusSearch.
