Add-Link suggests wrong links
Closed, DuplicatePublicBUG REPORT

Description

See this diff. Out of the 9 links added, 3 have issues:

  • Oklahoma is linked to the US state instead of the opera
  • My Fair Lady is linked to the film, not the Opera
  • Faust is linked to another opera. Also, only part of the title is linked, which is not ideal.

Oklahoma is linked to the US state instead of the opera

Oklahoma is also incorrectly linked since the title of the musical is Oklahoma!. cc @MGerlach for awareness on these.

One of our goals with this project was to encourage the user to use their judgment to assess whether the proposed links are good or not. It looks like this user accepted all 9 proposed links. While reducing the number of links available for the user to approve (T274325) might help (so the user isn't just clicking through a long list of items), T276518: Add a link: set user expectation on algorithm strength might also encourage the user to think more critically before accepting suggestions.

Should we merge into T279521: Add a link: algorithm improvements: Improve parsing of text for generating anchor-text candidates? The first and third are the same type of problem, and the second is not really a bug.

I'll be bold and just do it.
