Bold links to the same page for Special:MyLanguage links
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):

Links that lead to the same page should be bolded. Special:MyLanguage links usually lead to the same page, so they should be bolded. They currently are not.

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):

The link for "Property proposal" ([[Special:MyLanguage/Wikidata:Property proposal]]) in the Template:Discussion_navigation/text on https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Property_proposal should be bolded.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):

Users of multilingual wikis will be able to recognize that they are on a page part of a navigation menu.

Event Timeline

The current interface language, the preferences interface language, and the page language cannot be assumed to be connected. The purpose of redirecting special pages is that the target isn't known at parse time. Additionally, if implemented, this would fragment the cache even more than Translate already does. I suggest closing this task as declined.
