Cheat pageviews (of articles about some media channels) on Ukrainian Wikipedia
Closed, ResolvedPublicFeature

Description

Hi! Since year 2019 Ukrainian Wikipedia community struggles with the problem of cheat views of certain specific articles (mainly these three: 1, 2, 3). We are fairly certain that these articles have cheat views because the number of views rapidly increased on November 27th 2019.

We try to exclude these articles from all our stats, however, the mobile version of Wikipedia has feature of "the most popular", where it still remains (Open mobile version of Wikipedia, change language to Ukrainian, go to "the most popular" block on the main page).

Is it possible to exclude the abovementioned articles from that stats? It just does not represent current trends in Ukrainian Wikipedia.

I think the problem was resolved, although in a bad way.
These articles were linked from YouTube: when viewers from Ukraine opened a video from one of these three channels, they saw a notice with a link to Ukrainian Wikipedia.
Due to Russian invasion and associated sanctions this does not happen anymore: these channels are now sanctioned and cannot be viewed on YouTube from Ukraine (or even worldwide).
The articles now attract at most a few dozen page views a day, so I assume the problem is solved
